For the high school, 15 new steel coat lockers will he purchas­ ed, and the gymnasium will be painted and will have new light­ ing fixtures installed. The stage’s curtains are to be cleaned, and aecoustieal tile will fee installed in five class rooms. Window screens will bo installed in several windows of the elemen­ tary school, for whch a rolling pro­ jector table, DaLlte screen, kitchen dish wagon, beam scale and six li­ brary' tables also will be prehased. Walt, who came to the tillage In December, 1929, first trimmed the hair and shaved the beards of the male citizenry In a shop loc­ ated In the Old Tin Building. Later, the site was changed to the Gegncr Shop, and In 19S6, Watt started to occupy his cur­ rent location In the Log Cabin on Xenia Ave, Although his average day now Is. over 10 hours (he formerly worked a 14 to 15 hour day), the work of a barber is relieved of monotony by the many anecdotes afforded by ns many customers. Walt lost a subsequent customer Who thought he had Caused the first customer to bleed because o f a slip of the razor, in his barber shop, which cur­ rently Is open from 8 a, m. to 6 p, m. weekdays except for half-days on Wednesdays, Wait has seen youngsters have their first hair­ cuts, served them throughout the years, and repeated the emotion­ ally stormy ordeal of the first hair­ cut for their young sons, "A num­ ber of parents actually film movies of their child’s first haircut,’* he maintains. Although Walt's clientele Is comprised mostly of men and boys, lie also has a few' women customers who prefer (he old- fashioned shingle-bob, and has nltvnys given little girls n “Dutch Boy" bob, especially his own daughters, now grown-up Into Miss Wilma Squires and Mrs. Itolrert Diincvaittr Floral and vegetable gardening Is the chief hobby of Walt) who has been married to Mrs. Clara Squires for nearly 28 years. The Squires are members of the Yellow' Springs Methodist Church, where Wait serv­ ed on the official board for the past several years. At one time, when Waif was a member of the village council’s police committee, he was instru­ mental in organising the Yellow Springs Schoolboy Patrol. Cedar Rapids, la., were charged with operating without a license and disorderly conduct, res­ pectively. Each posted $25 bond and were released from the Greene Co. Jail, Also on Sunday, Lola Harrison, 32, of Fairborn, was arrested for operating without a license.
