ACTIVITIES OF THE 1052-03 SCHOOL TEAR The varsity basketball team wen third place In the county league and the tournament. The varsity track team won sec­ ond place In the county. The high school students held the annual Christmas tree cutting festival and In April the annual tree planting. Out of seventeen high school students who participated in the final state scholarship tests thir­ teen students won high district and state honors. Six seniors participated In the state senior comprehensive scholar­ ship tests. Stephen Wise was first plate in Greene County, Betsy Beu- ba third and Paula Velsey was fifth, The sophomore shop boys took Heme Economies lor a month while the sophomore girls took shop for a month. The high school faculty made a study of the school needs as re­ quested by the North Central As­ sociation. Bryan High School wan again approved for membership in the North Central Association, The Dramatics Club presented a three-net piny. school were covered with acousti­ cal tile. Three classrooms floors and the corridor floors In the high school were covered wiih asphalt tile, Fluroescent lights were installed in all classrooms except three in the high school. The senior cias-cs of 1031 and 3052 with the board of education added an electric typewriter to the commercial department The student council purchased an electric adding machine for the commercial department. Nervis Yellow Springs The music group presented an Opera. Field trips 'were sponsored students to study occupations. for ,Students were placed on many jobs through the office. Driver training was taken by twenty-eight students. The new elementary school was built at n cost of $301,000.00, Also a federal grant of $$0,000.00 for equip­ ment and site development to the new school was made. The site de­ velopment Included sidewalks along Elm and v/alnui streets; tree trimming and tree removal; drain­ age tile; grading arid seeding the whole grounds and landscape shrub planting.
