It was established by in­ dividuals who cared young people. In 1953, the operation of the college was transferred to the trustees of the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland. This was done to enlarge the Institute’s ministry. The college retained its name and contin­ ued to identify with the founders' original purpose. Reflected in the school motto — "..for the Word of God and testimony of Je­ sus Christ." Today Cedarville continues to emphasize the growth of the whole person.
