The Lady Jackets are the #1 seed in a pool that includes #4 Mount Vernon Nazarene (OH), #5 Trinity International (IL), #8 Southwestern Assemblies of God (TX) and the host #9 Northwestern College (MN). Cedarville will travel to the University of Rio Grande on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. for the final regular season contest of the 2005 campaign. On Friday and Saturday, November 11-12, the Lady Jackets will host the American Mideast Conference Tournament which includes the top six teams in each of the North and South Divisions. Cedarville, the AMC South Division champs, has also earned a berth in the NAIA Region IX Tournament to be held Nov. 19 at the North champion. The Lady Jacket volleyball team hosts the Dominican University Panthers in an American Mideast Conference South Division match tonight in the Callan Athletic Center. The contest is the final regular season home match of the 2005 season. Cedarville, ranked #17 in the latest NAIA national poll, enters the contest with a 34-1 overall mark including a 14-0 record in the AMC South Division. CU posted a 3-0 win over visiting Malone on Saturday to clinch their second consecutive AMC South Division title. ODU is 21-17 overall and in second place in the AMC South Division with a 10-3 mark. In their most recent action last Thursday, the Panthers recorded a huge 34-36, 33-35, 30-22, 33-31, 15-11 home win over Urbana to move into second place in the AMC South. Junior Julia Bradley leads a balanced Lady Jacket offensive attack that now has five players with over 250 kills. The 6-0 middle hitter is pacing the team in kills (584), kills per game (4.91 ), attack percent– age (.461 ), solo blocks (40), block assists (93) and total blocks (133). The two-time All-AMC Second Team performer leads the AMC and the NCCAA in both kills per game and attack percentage. Bradley, honored for the second consecutive week as the AMC and NAIA Region IX ·Player of the Week (Oct. 24-30), needs 37 kills to move into second-place in career kills at Cedarville. Senior setter Kelsey Jones is averaging 13.77 assists per game. Jones is CU's all-time leader in assists with 5,881 and is now sixth all-time in digs with 1,633. Sophomore Sarah Zeltman is second on the team with 3.52 kills per game and a .373 hitting per– centage. The 6-1 middle hitter, a 2004 NAIA All– America Third Team selection, is also second on the team with 27 solo blocks and 52 block assists. Kelsey Jones Senior Erica Paugh is third on the Lady Jackets with 2.76 kills per game. Junior outside hitter Anne Lohrenz has 293 kills and an improving .323 attack percentage for CU. Rookie Cari Greetham has recorded 255 kills while adding 178 digs. The Cedarville defensive efforts are paced by senior Lauren Mable. She is registering 4.83 digs per game and is the Lady Jacket career leader in the category with 2,551. Freshman libero Libby Short is contributing 4.71 digs per contest while senior defensive specialist Kari Flunker adds 3.38 digs per game. The Panthers are led by junior outside hitter Colleen Elliott with 410 kills (3.23 per game). ODU Lauren Mable uses a 6-2 offensive system with senior Teri Riggs and sophomore Megan Cherry sharing the setting duties. Sophomore defensive spe– cialist Alisha Dials paces the Panthers back row with 5.73 digs per contest. Senior Jeannie Koester is close behind with 5.23 digs per game. Cedarville leads the all-time series with Ohio Dominican by a 43- 14 margin including a hard-fought 30-26, 20-30, 30-26, 30-24 win over the Panthers on October 11 in Columbus. NAIA No. 17 Cedarville swept Malone to capture the American Mideast Conference South Division championship for the second consecutive year. The Yellow Jackets won by scores of 30-13, 30-28, 30-22 and earn the right to host the AMC Tournament on Nov. 11-12. Julia Bradley hammered 18 kills and came up with four blocks for Cedarville, 34-1 overall and 14-0 AMC. Sarah Zeltman ripped 11 kills with Erica Paugh and Anne Lohrenz contributing nine each. Kelsey Jones tallied 42 assists and three service aces while Lauren Mable sparked the defense with 21 digs. Malone is 15-20 and 7-9 AMC. Cedarville has run off 35 straight victories in the Callan Athletic Center and 31 regular season league wins in a row.
