Individual game scores were 30-23, 30-27, 32-34, 30- 16. Tonight's championship match marked the fourth time this season the two squads played with Cal Baptist winning three oftbe four contests. Familiar ith ea h other' game play, the two battled point-for-point throughout the first game. The largest lead of game one didn ' t come until Cal Baptist went on top 25-21. on ordia oe er got clo er, lo ing on a kill by Yajaira Prado for the 30-23 score. The second game opened up early with CaJ Baptist taJcing a 14-8 lead before Concordia scored ix traight points to clo e the gap to one at 14- 13. Cal Baptist took another lead at 22- 18 before Cbie Inoue 's kill tied the score at 24. Yudelka Bonilla finished the game at 30- 27 with a kill on an as i t from Kayla Van Duyo. Fa ing defeat, Concordia fought back in game three, grabbing leads as big as six points. Cal Baptist scored seven of the next nine points to tie the game at 26. Tournament MVP Raquel Ferreira of oocordia connected on a pass from Carmen Stratton for the game winner at 34-32. The fourth game belonged to Cal Baptist, as Concordia struggled on offense. The Lancers took the early lead and never trailed, winning 30-16. oocordia concludes its season at 34-6 and a second-place finish with its first-ever trip to the national tournament. The Eagles were led by Ferreria with 26 kills and 18 digs. Kim Mattis added 28 digs and trattoo had 35 assists. lo addition to Tachakara Tournament MVP honors for Ferreira, Stratton was named to the All-Tournament Team. Cal Baptist capped of its championship season with a 37-5 overall record and the school's first volleyball national title. Bonilla had 33 kills and 27 digs to lead the match. Van Duyo was credited with 69 assists. Head Coach Ryan McGuyre was named the National Tournament Coach of the Year. Yajaira Proda and Yudelka Bonilla also received all– tournament honors.
