The Road to Sioux City • The 32-team field is comprised of 20 automatic qualifiers from NAIA affiliated conferences and association of independents, plus 12 at-large selections, which were determined using the final Top 25 rating released on March 2. • Thirty-one games will be played out in Sioux City. The first 30 games will be video-streamed by Neulion, the parent company of JumpTV. Three different subscription plans for basketball (Men's and Women's Division I; Men's and Women's Division II) will be available for tournament coverage. Users can purchase the All-Tournament pass, which includes every event offered on College Sports Direct from all four basketball tournaments for $39.95. Each of the four basketball tournaments can be purchased sepa1ptely for $24.95 and any single day can be purchased fix $9.95. • The GPAC landed five squads in the National Championship field including: Northwestern, Morningside, Sioux Falls (S.D.), Briar Cliff (Iowa) and Mount Marty (S.D.). The American Mideast Conference is sending the second most schools to Sioux City with walsh (Ohio) , Daemen (N.Y. ), Mount Vernon Nazarene and Cedarville (Ohio) representing the league. Celebrating 20 Years of NAIA Division II Women's Basketball • Since the event started in 1992, 141 programs have qualified for the State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. Of those programs, 91 are still active members of the NAIA • Eleven schools have taken home the ultimate prize from just three different championship locations. Sioux City, Iowa has hosted the event for the past 14 years. Before moving the tournament to Sioux City, the National Championship was held in Monmouth, Ore., from 1992-95, and Angola, Ind., from 1996-97. • Five programs from this year's field have recorded double-digit National Championship appearances.Headlining that group is College of the Ozarks (Mo.),who will be playing in its 1oth consecutive and 17th overall National Championship. The Bobcats sport a 25-16 record on the big stage and have finished runner-up three times. • While five teams have seen 10 or more trips to the National Championship, five of the 32 teams will be making their first stops: Concordia (Mich.), Maine at Machias, Marian (Ind.), Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) and Valley City State (N.D.). In addition to the five newcomers, there are four teams that will also be looking for their first winJ in tournament action. • The Great Plains Athletic Conference trio of Hastings (Neb.), Morningside (Iowa) and Northwestern (Iowa) has captured the most championships with three each. Only two other schools have won multiple crowns, Northern State (S.D.) and Western Oregon, both former NAIA schools. The GPAC schools have teamed up to win nine of the past 10 national championships. • Three schools have captured back-to-back titles in Division II history. Western Oregon (1995 and 1996), Hastings (Neb.) (2002 and 2003) and Morningside (Iowa) (2004 and 2005) all defended their title after winning their first championship. . • En route to its third national title last season, Northwestern plowed through its competition, setting anew record for most points scored with 457, in addition to tying the most field goals made with 163. NAIAAII-American and 201 O Tournament MVP Becca Hurley returns to Sioux City looking for a second straight title. In the championship game against Shawnee State (Ohio), Hurley hung 23 points on the Bears and also dished out seven assists. For the 14th year in-a•row, the Tyson Events CenterA'.,ateway Arena is home to the State Farm·NAIA Dvision II Women·s Baskelbalf Nalional Championship.
