Jan. 4 • Benike posted a double-double with 22 points and 1 O rebounds against No. 1 Northwestern (Iowa) on Dec. 29. The senior then recorded 20 points and five steals in 16 minutes of action against Indiana Northwest. Benike, who earned 2010 NAIA Division II All-America Second Team honors, leads No. 2 Davenport in scoring with 16 points per game, field goal percentage at 54.8 percent and rebounds wi1h 7.24 per game. Sharon Houston · F · Indiana Northwest · Jr. · Merrillville, Ind. Jan. 11 • Houston posted a double-double in each of the three games played last week. The Merrillville, Ind. , native averaged 27.7 points, 20 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per contest, while shooting 60 percent from the field . The junior, who has led Indiana Northwest to an 11-5 record , currently ranks first nationally in blocks per game (3. 7) and rebounds per game (16.7). She is listed second in points per game with 23. Jennifer Jorgensen · G · Grand View (Iowa) · So. · Dayton, Iowa ~§-iiijiif:~- Jan. 18 • Jorgensen finished the week averaging 36 points, I eight rebounds and three assists. She shot 29-for-37 (.784) from the field, drained 3-of-4 3-point attempts and was 11-of-14 (.786) from the charity stripe. The sophomore is listed among the nation's top-1 O players in four statistical categories , ranking fifth in defensive rebounds per game (8.1) and points per game (21.8) , sixth in total scoring (415) and 10th in total rebounds (189). Jennifer Jorgensen · G · Grand View (Iowa) · So. • Dayton, Iowa Jan. 25 • The 5-10 guard topped her career high in scoring for the third-consecutive game with 41 points•against Ashford (Iowa) on Jan. 19. In the Vikings' 82-53 win against Waldorf (Iowa) on Jan. 22, she did a little bit of everything, contributing 32 points, nine rebounds, four steals, four assists and two blocks. Jorgensen finished the week averaging a double-double of 36.5 points and 11 .0 rebounds. Laura Taylor · C · Mayville State (N.D.) · So. · Maddock, N.D. Feb. 1 • In the Comets' 80-75 victory over Dakota State (S.D.) on Jan. 26, the 6-1 center poured in 24 points on 6-of-15 shooting and grabbed 18 boards. With only six active Comet players for the matchup against NCCM'sTrinity Bible College (N.D.) on Jan. 29, Taylor stepped up big with 32 points, 24 rebounds, five steals, three blocks and two assists. Taylor finished the week averaging 28 points and 21 rebounds per game, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the free-throw line. Melanie McCreight · G · Iowa Wesleyan · Sr. · Winfield, Iowa II Feb. 8 , In the Tigers' 88-69 victory over then-No. 16 William Penn (Iowa) on Feb. 3, Mccreight chalked up 30 points on 1D- of-15 shooting and grabbed six rebounds . The 30 points against William Penn was just one mark shy of her career-high in scoring. Mccreight then guided IWU to a 63-38 win against Waldorf (Iowa) with 22 points and five boards. The senior finished the week averaging 26 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, shooting 53.1 percent from the floor and 50 percent from the 3-point line. Amanda Himes · C · Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) · Sr. · Hilliard, Ohio Feb. 15, In the Cougars' 83-64 victory over Notre Dame (Ohio) on Feb. 8, the 6-1 center notched a career-high 31 points and also snagged 19 rebounds. Himes followed up the win with a team-high 20 points and game-high 19 rebounds in the upset of then-No. 14 Cedarville (Ohio) on Feb. 12. For the week, she averaged 25.5 points and 18.5 rebounds per game.
