354. PASTORAL TRAINING and CHURCH TECHNIQUE. A very helpful study of the personal life and habits of the pastor, his ministry in the parish and suggestions concerning visitation, busi– ness meetings, parliamentary procedure, weddings, funerals and other practical pastoral duties. The organization and management of the church is studied in relation to its force, fi eld and finance. Effective methods of supervision, training for worship and service, and successful methods of publicity and .promotion are examined. Two hours, second semester, thi.rd !}ear. 356. PASTORAL THEOLOGY. A more adrnnced course than 354, required of all students pursuing the Pastor' Course. The more impor– tant a pects of the work of the pastor are treated: personal life and habits, the call to and acceptance of a pastorate, ,·isitation and pas– toral counselling, social and spi ritual problems, the administration of the ordinances, parliamentary procedure, weddings,. funerals and other pastoral duties. Two hours, second semester, third year. 419. HOMILETICS (Advanced). A continuation of course number 2 M, with more actual upervised preaching. Two hours, first semester, fourth year. ,1,22. CHURCH ADMINISTRATION. The organization and man– agement of the local church, educational, evangelistic, worship and service programs, successful methods of publicity and promotion and the various phases and departments of church ministry are considered. Three hours, second semester, fourth year. 511. PA TORAL PSYCHOLOGY. This course is designed to meet the need of ministerial students..
