ACCREDITATION Cedarville’s PA program has received Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) approval and Accreditation-Provisional* status fromARC-PA. ARC-PA grants Accreditation-Provisional status to qualified programs that meet its high professional standards for PA education but have not yet enrolled students. Our long history of launching fully accredited graduate healthcare programs, including nursing, pharmacy, and athletic training, affirms our anticipated success. MMSc-PA CURRICULUM Cedarville’s PA program spans two years and is divided into two phases: a didactic year and a clinical year. Your curriculumwill be sequenced and structured to build upon your prior education and healthcare experience, preparing you to competently practice patient-centered, evidence-based care on multidisciplinary teams in diverse healthcare environments. You will be admitted and enrolled as part of a cohort, completing each semester sequentially. You must successfully complete each course for a given semester to be eligible to enroll in the subsequent semester. Advanced placement is not granted under any circumstances and all program requirements must be satisfactorily fulfilled to be eligible for degree conferral. Here’s what you can expect during your two years of PA training at Cedarville: DIDACTIC YEAR – EQUIPPING YOU IN THE CLASSROOM You will complete didactic year on campus face to face in a residential classroom format. The courses have been intentionally aligned to promote learning across the courses, to build on prior knowledge as you progress through the curriculum, and paired with cases to help solidify the learning. The curriculum is organized to cover each major organ system and taught from a variety of methods to accommodate various learning styles. As part of our commitment to preparing you as a missional PA who will use your skills to serve Christ, you’ll have opportunities to be trained in urban and rural underserved clinical settings. Accreditation requires that you have clinical experiences in family medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, surgery, and behavioral health. You will also complete two additional rotations in your specific areas of interest.
