DINING HALL RENOVATION Creating Space for Good Food and Fellowship Cedarville’s dining hall fosters some of students’ favorite community experiences — from bro-sis or d-group gettogethers to one-on-one meals that help students make friends for life. But over the years, the dining hall’s design has started to show its age, and the seating and walkways didn’t suit the changing needs of our expanded student body anymore. In short, it was time for an upgrade. This summer, we changed the dining hall from floor to ceiling — including a brand-new name: The Commons. The new entrance allows for easier access to takeout options. The seating reflects student needs: high-top tables, booths, and small tables for one-on-ones and long tables for that weekly bro-sis dinner. A new waste management system allows for easier cleanup. The allergen-aware station now has a separate preparation kitchen to prevent cross-contamination. Students also have the option for after-hours meals, with pizza and taco options available for evening pickup at The Commons Express! A new convenience-style store, The Commons Market, offers drinks, snacks, and to-go food for students. Your support through the 1000 Days Fund contributed to this major project. Your generosity helped us to create a dining hall that matches the quality of the friendships formed inside. The Commons provides an inviting environment where students can slow down and enjoy good food and fellowship. It is where one-on-one discipleship moments happen and where lifelong memories will be made. 10
