The information technology department exists to provide the computer-related resources necessary for fulfilling this institutional commitment to information delivery. In particular, the department strives to ensure a reliable network infrastructure, a dependable computing environment, essential help-desk services, and comprehensive information delivery. EduroamWi-Fi Anybody with a CedarNet credentials can get connectedwith Cedarville’sWi-Fi network, “eduroam,” by using their Cedarville email address and password. The eduroamnetwork is secure and also available in other universities throughout the world. Network Use Cedarville University provides students with network access, and holds certain expectations for how the network is to be used. Students are prohibited from accessing pornographic websites or unauthorized data. Students are expected to show stewardship and responsibility toward computers and the sites that they access. Free Services: Wireless/Security Setup – Your computer and/or device will be registered and set up on the eduroamwireless network. Free anti-virus software provided. General Hardware/Software assistance – Feel free to ask questions, computer recommendations, verification a computer will be able to do what you want, and much more at our counter or on the phone. Fee-based Services: Software Optimization – Technicians will speed up your computer by uninstalling unwanted software and disabling unnecessary features. Software/Hardware Diagnostics – Technicians will diagnose your computer using the latest professional tools licensed to information technology. Includes some minor software repair. Hardware will be diagnosed but not repaired.
