SCHOLARSHIPS Scholarships are available for all members of the forensics team. New scholarships are given based on past speech and debate experience and financial need. Returning team members will reapply for a scholarship that will be awarded based on collegiate competitive success, leadership on the team, financial need, and commitment. FORENSICS AND COMMUNICATION Forensics is open to all majors, but there is a special relationship between forensics and the communication department. From advocacy to entertainment, when you want to share a message, you use communication skills. Pairing participation in forensics and pursuit of a degree in communication will enhance your competitive experience by giving you frequent access to the professors and resources that will help you succeed in competitive contexts. Participating in forensics is also helpful for communication majors by giving them confidence in communicative situations that elevate the theory and rhetorical concepts they learn in class. You can even participate in forensics for course credit! Forensics provides a specific opportunity to put into practice what you are learning in the classroom.
