love for OTHERS The second commitment Jesus emphasized is that His followers must love others. Love for other followers of Christ and for those outside the fellowship of the church are marks of a Christian. Within the church and the Cedarville community, students are encouraged to edify one another, be ready to listen, and quick to offer encouragement. Further, students are encouraged to display self-sacrificial love to those outside the household of faith. 11
