Student-athletes will hold team meetings, review game film, and host events in a new beautifully designed 2,000-square-foot team room. Cedarville Athletics will also use this branded venue during recruiting visits with future Yellow Jackets. There will also be new office space for coaches and athletics department staff. In addition to the growth of our athletics capabilities, the expansion and renovation of the second floor will also provide office space, classrooms, labs, and student gathering space for our Master of Athletic Training program and our developing PA (physician assistant) program. The PA program is slated to start classes in 2023, pending approval by its professional accreditor, while the M.A.T. will begin June 2022. CHRIS CROSS NAMED ATHLETIC DIRECTOR After performing a national search, Cedarville University has chosen Chris Cross as its new Athletic Director. Cross has been a member o f Cedarv i l l e ' s a th l e t i c department s ince 2005. He served as an Assistant Athletic Director starting in 2014 and, since July 2021, has held the role of Interim Athletic Director. He replaces longtime Athletic Director Alan Geist ’83, who is now serving on the faculty of the School of Business. As Athletic Director, Cross will oversee the University's 16 NCAA II intercollegiate teams and athletic training, and he will serve on the President's Cabinet. Cross and his wife, Barbara, live in Cedarville and have three sons: Mason ’21, Colby ’24, and Tyler. Cedarville Magazine | 33 SPORTS
