Cedarville Magazine Fall 2023

The Lady Jacket volleyball team spent a week in Guatemala, August 4–11, using their sport to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Global Outreach mission trip consisted of Head Coach Greg Smith along with 13 players and three support staff and was a perfect preparation for the upcoming season. The group visited Guatemala City and Jutiapa, spending time with underprivileged children, leading clinics, and playing three matches against the Guatemala National Team. “I was able to see God use volleyball as a platform to build relationships, to develop trust, and to share the Gospel,” said Abby Kuyper ’24. “God opened so many doors for the Gospel to be shared and heard. He did amazing things while we were on the trip, and I knowHe will continue to work in our hearts and in the hearts of the people we formed relationships with.” VOLLEYBALL GO TRIP NOTHING SHORT OF ‘AMAZING’ § Both Yellow Jacket soccer teams picked up the United Soccer Coaches TeamAcademic Award. § The Cedarville track & field squads were again recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. § The Lady Jacket volleyball team repeated as a AVCA Team Academic Award recipient. § Cedarville men’s and women’s tennis continued the tradition of being named ITA Division II All-Academic Teams. § The women’s tennis and women’s track & field programs were recognized as NCCAA Scholar-Teams. § The Yellow Jackets totaled 65 spring NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. § Hudl TV is the new home of the G-MAC Digital Network and video streams are still free for all fans. 37
