I can now say with complete confidence that my life was dramatically transformed during my time attending this beautiful school — surrounded by cornfields in the quaint little town of Cedarville, Ohio. Yet, I never could have fully understood at the time how important those four years would be in my life. As I walked on campus for the first time, I had very few expectations. I was not expecting to spend the upcoming years establishing my faith in Jesus Christ. I was not expecting to meet lifelong friends who would stand by me at my wedding — as well as in the most difficult times of my life. I was not expecting to network and make relationships that would impact my business in the years to come. I was not expecting for the Lord to change everything about the trajectory of my life. These were not my goals or dreams when I started school as a freshman. However, they were the end result. My degree was valuable. My experiences learning in the classroomwere formative. My memories made with friends will always make me smile. However, the most important thing about my Cedarville experience was maturing in an environment that constantly pointed me back to Jesus Christ. Professors, coaches, chapel speakers, and friends challenged me to honor the Lord. They taught me to think critically. They taught me to seek wisdom. They taught me to live humbly and courageously as a believer. Will we follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly with our lives? Or will we live to glorify ourselves and our happiness? I am thankful that my time at Cedarville University helped me to make my decision early on to find fulfillment: Jesus Christ must be at the center of it all.
