MEN’S BASKETBALL CLAIMS THIRD NCCAA BANNER No. 1 seed Cedarville pulled away in the second half to defeat No. 2, Wayland Baptist, 88-72 to win the NCCAA Men’s Basketball Championship for the third time inWinona Lake, Indiana. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Jayvon Maughmer totaled 15 points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Yellow Jackets in the championship game. He was joined on the all-tournament team by Chris Rogers and Grant Whisman, who earned 20 points apiece. Maughmer, who was the 2024 G-MAC Player of the Year, was voted to the NCCAA All-America First Team. WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD DOMINATES NCCAA INDOOR AGAIN Cedarville took advantage of its depth in the running events to comfortably win its sixth consecutive NCCAAWomen’s Indoor Track and Field Championship banner at the Doden Field House. Head Coach Jeff Bolender and his staff were recognized as the 2024 NCCAAWomen’s Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year. The Lady Jackets won six events and had 14 All-American performances in all.
