Jones, who brings a wealth of NCAA Division I experience from his time at Liberty University and the University of Richmond, is set to lead Cedarville’s program into an exciting new era. Jones steps into his first head coaching role after serving as the associate head coach at Liberty University. His appointment comes after a successful stint with the Flames, where he played a pivotal role in guiding the team to 45 victories over two seasons, including Liberty’s first National Invitation Tournament (NIT) appearance and victory. "I am so excited to welcome Rob Jones as our newmen's basketball coach," said Chris Cross, Vice President for Athletics. "Rob displays the desire to disciple young men and to see studentathletes succeed on and off the court. He brings enthusiasm and a love for Christ along with a servant leader mentality." As Jones takes the helm at Cedarville, he is committed to helping his team grow: as athletes, as teammates, and as believers in Christ. "Our focus will be on winning at the highest levels,” Jones said, “with an emphasis on spiritual development, academic achievement, and personal growth as our core foundation." TEE TIME: WOMEN’S GOLF WILL DEBUT IN 2025 Cedarville University is swinging into a new chapter in its athletic history with the addition of women’s golf as the Yellow Jackets’ 17th intercollegiate sport. The introduction of women’s golf — the first sport added since 1997 — is more than just an addition to the sports lineup — it’s a commitment to providing Christian young women with a platform to showcase their talents on and off the course. “We are excited to provide an opportunity for Christian young women to use their gifts and abilities to excel athletically and use their gifts to advance God’s Kingdom,” said Chris Cross, Cedarville’s Vice President for Athletics. The Lady Jackets will have access to Cedarville’s outstanding athletic facilities, including an on-campus practice range and a well-maintained putting green.
