REMEMBERING GOD'S HAND IN HISTORY Leading Cedarville University's Jackets for Life Bus Trip toWashington, D.C., was an absolute joy. This special trip, designed for alumni and friends 55 and older, was not just a sightseeing experience but an opportunity for deep spiritual and historical reflection. Together, 33 alumni and spouses fromOhio, Indiana, Iowa, and Kentucky, from classes 1961 to 1991 (and ’03 and ’09 as well!), spent five days together connecting our story to our nation’s narrative from a biblical perspective. As we explored sights like the Flight 93 National Memorial, the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, and theWar Memorials on the National Mall, our guides fromGood Comma Classroom challenged us to approach these with an attitude of grateful remembrance. At the Museum of the Bible and the National Holocaust Memorial Museum, I was reminded of God’s faithfulness through the stories woven into our nation’s history. Seeing alumni from different generations with unique stories and backgrounds come together and share how God has worked in their lives was truly inspiring. The trip concluded with the powerful Sight & Sound Theatres’ production of Daniel, which brought the biblical story to life in a way that touched everyone. It was a creative depiction of God’s faithfulness to His people in Daniel’s time and a poignant reminder of God’s faithfulness to us. Overall, the trip was a time of fellowship, learning, and growth. We’re already planning future bus trips, and I can’t wait to continue sharing these experiences with our alumni family. Seeing how God is at work in both history and in our personal lives made this trip truly unforgettable. Diana (White) Perkey ’91 Director of Alumni Engagement A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR 34
