RICH RITTER SELECTED NEW HEAD GOLF COACH In fall 2025, women's golf will become Cedarville's newest varsity sport, providing another opportunity for Cedarville women to compete for Christ as student-athletes. And this new team, along with men's golf, will be helmed by a new head coach: Rich Ritter. He will be the firstever Lady Jackets' golf head coach and will take over the men's program fromRyan Bowen, who is retiring at the end of the season following a 19-year tenure coaching the Yellow Jackets. “Coach Ritter brings a wealth of experience and success to our golf programs," said Vice President for Athletics Chris Cross. “He cares about the development of student-athletes on and off the course and seeks to continue a culture of spiritual discipleship and personal growth." Rich and his wife, Stacy, have four children. Their daughter, Anna, is a junior on the women's golf team at the University of Illinois, and their triplet boys, Alexander, Ethan, and Huston, are seniors on the men’s golf team at New Albany High School. GAME ON! CEDARVILLE ATHLETICS IS LAUNCHING ESPORTS Cedarville University is excited to announce the launch of its new Esports program in the fall of 2025. The Yellow Jackets will be joining the growing world of competitive gaming and offering students the opportunity to participate in organized, team-based video game competitions. The University is currently in the process of recruiting players and coaches for the inaugural Esports co-ed team. “We are thrilled to add Esports to our list of student activities," said Chris Cross, Vice President for Athletics. “We believe it will provide our students with a unique and exciting opportunity to further the University mission, develop their skills, build community, and represent Cedarville in a new and dynamic way.” The Yellow Jackets' Esports programwill initially focus on Rocket League, Super Smash Brothers, and Overwatch 2. The University plans to compete against other colleges and universities in a regional and national Esports conference. “We are committed to providing our Esports athletes an exciting athletic experience competing against top competition nationally," said Cross. “We believe that we can use the opportunity to represent Christ well in this space."
