Cedarville Magazine Spring 2025

Cedarville’s new online Master of Theological Studies (MTS) programwas designed to strengthen the church. This 36-credit-hour program offers four concentrations — ministry, worship and theology, biblical leadership, and the all-new biblical counseling — to give our students focused experience in their planned area of ministry. The curriculum emphasized practical ministry training alongside a robust Bible and theology core. Dr. Michael McKay, Associate Professor of Biblical Theology, believes this new programwill equip graduates to serve the Church. “Through these new programs,” he said, “we are striving to transform lives through excellent education and intentional discipleship in submission to biblical authority, and this programwill help in the transformational process.” The newMTS degree is just one of Cedarville’s graduate ministry options. Other options include the residential Master of Divinity program and certificates in leadership, worship leadership, biblical counseling, and theological studies. Whatever our students’ goals and timelines, Cedarville strives to prepare believers for effective ministry in their families, churches, and communities. Dr. Trent Rogers, Dean of the School of Biblical and Theological Studies, shares this institutional priority. “We are striving to strengthen the local church through our programs," he said. “Whether you choose the residential MDiv or one of the new online ministry options, we want to equip our graduates to be producers within the local church, not just consumers. It is our hope that through our programs, students will fall deeper in love with Jesus as they study His Word and receive outstanding ministry preparation.” To learn more about the Master of Theological Studies, visit cedarville.edu/mts.
