Cedarville Magazine Summer 2025

Cedarville Magazine 251 N. Main St., Cedarville, OH 45314 1-888-CEDARVILLE | magazine@cedarville.edu cedarville.edu/magazine From the moment I joined Cedarville University as a faculty member, I was captivated by its mission of transforming lives through excellent education and intentional discipleship. That mission has come alive for me in the traditional classroom, where I get to walk alongside students, challenge them academically, and watch them grow spiritually. As faculty, we don’t just teach — we disciple, guide, and equip students to think critically, apply their faith to their calling, and grow in wisdom. Now, with the expansion of online undergraduate programs, I am excited to extend that same transformational experience beyond our physical campus. As I prepare for future online students, I want them to feel just as invested in their education and faith journey as our residential students. This shift is not simply about adapting my lectures for a digital format — it is about reimagining how I engage, mentor, and connect in a virtual space. I constantly ask myself, “How TAKING TRANSFORMATION ONLINE can I foster genuine interaction and community? How can I ensure that online students not only gain knowledge but also deepen their walk with Christ?” Developing online courses is more than delivering content — it is about ensuring that Cedarville’s distinctive approach, where academic excellence is rooted in biblical truth, remains at the core. It is about finding creative ways to build relationships, cultivate engagement, and equip students for Kingdom impact, whether they are across the country or around the world. I am excited about what lies ahead. The heart of Cedarville’s mission remains unchanged, but its reach of that mission is expanding. I am grateful to be part of a faculty committed to both tradition and innovation, preparing students for excellence in whatever setting they learn and serve in.
