EXPRESSION OF SYMPATHY JEFFREY FAWCETT ’82 Long-time Cedarville marketing professor Dr. Jeffrey Fawcett passed away on Friday, June 27. Dr. Fawcett served Cedarville faithfully for 24 years, earning the Faculty Member of the Year award for the 2005–06 year and the Faculty Teaching Effectiveness Award in 2004–05. Dr. Fawcett most recently served as the Dean of the School of Business at Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. He earned his DBA from Cleveland State University. DWAYNE FRANK ’60 Dr. Dwayne Frank, Professor Emeritus of Education at Cedarville, passed away on Sunday, September 7. A 1960 graduate of Cedarville College, Dwayne faithfully prepared future educators to share Christ with the children in their care for more than four decades. He was recognized in 1991 with the Distinguished Service Award for his enduring service and commitment to the Lord. He earned his Doctor of Education from the University of Idaho. HELEN TOINETTE “TOI” KING Toi King, a dedicated staff member in Cedarville’s Department of Education from 1972 through 2013, passed away on Monday, June 2. As the Department of Education’s Administrative Assistant, Toi blessed students, faculty, and fellow staff alike for decades, earning the Staff Member of the Year award for the 1992–93 school year. Her personal ministry of encouragement was well-known among her friends, colleagues, and church family. LORNE SCHARNBERG A devoted Cedarville trustee and supporter for decades, Lorne Scharnberg passed away on Sunday, September 7. As a trustee for 25 years and the Board of Trustees chair for several, Lorne influenced the University with his wise and godly counsel. He was one of only 14 individuals to receive the Cedarville University Medal of Honor for his faithful service. His legacy remains in the Scharnberg Business and Communication Center and with the numerous students taught there who will go on to impact the marketplace for God’s glory.
