15TH-CONSECUTIVE RECORD ENROLLMENT: AN ETERNAL STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITY For the 15th-consecutive year, Cedarville welcomed a record total number of undergraduate, graduate, and high school dual-enrolled students. The University’s enrollment for 2021–22 climbed to 4,715 students — an increase of 3.6%. The growing number of students seeking academic excellence and intentional discipleship is one of the reasons Cedarville announced One Thousand Days Transformed: The Campaign for Cedarville, to ensure we have the spaces, scholarships, and programs to equip students for vocational distinction and godly service. The record student body included 972 freshmen, which is the second-largest incoming class in history. SMALLWOOD TO LEAD CAMPAIGN AS ADVANCEMENT VP Will Smallwood has been named Vice President for Advancement, succeeding Rick Melson who assumed the presidency of Southwest Baptist University in August. “I have known Dr. Smallwood for many years and have always been struck by his humility, professionalism, and desire to give God the glory,” said Cedarville President Thomas White. Smallwood held executive leadership positions at both Louisiana College and Oklahoma Baptist University before joining the Cedarville Advancement team in 2021. During his decade of service at OBU, he launched a five-year comprehensive campaign and surpassed the goal more than a year early. “I have long observed the excellence of Cedarville at every level. There is a rich history of generous and faithful support from alumni and friends committed to preparing students who will honor the Lord with their careers and bring Gospel intentionality into all aspects of their lives. To play a small role in this worthy and crucial mission is an incredible blessing,” Smallwood commented. Cedarville Magazine | 3
