The Coconino consists of 197 measurements from Reiche (1938), the Wescogame 615 measurements from McKee (1982), and the Tapeats 182 measurements from McKee (1940). Analysis with Excel ANOVA showed that the three data sets could not be statistically distinguished from one another. This is despite varying cross-bed set thickness (Coconino, large; Wescogame, medium; Tapeats, small) and supposed depositional environment (Coconino, eolian; Wescogame, fluvial; Tapeats, shallow marine).
