The counseling services department seeks to honor the Lord Jesus Christ by offering counseling consistent with biblical truth and to cultivate Christian maturity in students throuQh the application of God's Word to their lives in order to encourage spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development. Counseling services designs and implements programs through which students can develop in a number of ways. These programs and services include: •One-On-One Counseling •Support Groups •Dorm Seminars/Bible Studies •Fit To Be Tied Premarital Counseling •Crisis Intervention •Referral Resources •Homepage • E-mail The Cedarville College counseling staff The Counseling Staff Sandra Entner '59 counseling a student Kim Ahlgrim with her husband, Tom '82, and their two children, Brianna and Blake 6FALL 1999 Sandra Millikin Entner '59 has a master's degree in counseling from the University of Dayton and a B.A. from Cedarville College. She serves as the director of counseling services and is a licensed professional and national certified counselor as well. Sandra has been a counselor al ihe College for 15 years. Helping students with personal, interpersonal, and spiritual concerns is top priority for her. Understanding the Myers-Briggs personality test(MBTI) and how it relates to college students is her specialty. She is often asked to speak on the MBTI in dorms as well as at special conferences around the nation. In fact, this fall she presented her expertise at a conference in Taiwan. Her major interests include flowers and photography. Of course, she and her husband, John '60, also love to spend time with their grandchildren. John Potter '79 brings to the counseling staff more than 15 years of experience in counseling, discipling, training, and teaching collegians, teens, and parents. A former resident director, John has a master's degree in biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and a master's in counseling from Amber University. John also has experience in leadership, teaching, and business. He and his wife, Ginny (Decker)'80, enjoy their new home in Cedarville and spending time with their two sons, Stephen and Matthew. Kim Ahlgrim earned her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Wright State University. She was a resident director in Printy Hall for five years. Kim is currently working part-time in the office and is an instructor of group dynamics and transitions. Providing understanding, encouragement, and counsel to college students dealing with struggles is exciting and rewarding to Kim. She enjoys raising her two young children, Brianna and Blake, with her husband, Tom '82, as well as traveling and refinishing furniture. Ruth Ager '61 John Potter '79 Ruth Himsel Ager '61N is the secretary for counseling services. With 12 years of experience, she runs the office efficiently. Ruth is on the staff committee to the president, and for many years she was an advisor to student organizations. She and her husband, Merlin '60, enjoy their young grandchildren. Ruth also enjoys flowers and gardening.
