A !limn;Events Sao Paulo, Brazil June 5, 1999 Eight Cedarville College alumni gathered together in Brazil to share memories and encourage one another. They enjoyed a reception hosted by Jennifer Kierstead '95. Littleton, Colorado June 22-23, 1999 The Cedarville College Lifeline Players presented dramatic presentations at South Holly Baptist Church on two consecutive nights. Cedarville College alumni were invited to attend the services and then stay for a dessert reception afterward. Marsha Edwards Perkins'72 hosted this event and welcomed 26 alumni. Easthampton, Massachusetts June 18, 1999 The Cedarville College Swordbearers joined 13 alumni and friends for a dessert reception at Calvary Baptist Church following an evening concert. This event was hosted by Marcy Johnson Brennan '94. Bellevue, Washington June 27, 1999 Jennifer Yaggi '96 was just one of more than 300 alumni and friends who joined President Dixon and the Kingsmen Quartet at a dessert reception in conjunction with the GARBC national conference. Since her retirement in 1978, Frances has kept in touch with several former students. She also helped found and then taught in the Faith Community preschool, and she volunteered at the library. Frances continues to stay active and enjoy life in Xenia, Ohio. 50s Max Tucker'53 is senior pastor at Norwood Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dale Schatz'56N and his wife, Gwen, are preparing to build a church in Florida. There have been some delays with this, so they are anxious to see the process started. Pray for strength and wisdom in all that is going on in their lives at this time. 60s John Ingram'63 is the pastor at Community Bible Fellowship in Aledo, Illinois. He and his wife, Sharon Marks Ingram '64,are excited to have seen God specifically affirm their move back into the pastorate. Bill Riter'64 is a CPA and chair of the business division at Cornerstone University. He has announced a new program emphasis in international business. Maxine Stanbery Nelson'68 has accepted the director of operations position for the adult and continuing education department at Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Ruth Pettitt'68 was named one of 10 teachers in Ohio to receive the Ashland, Inc. Teacher Achievement Award. Ruth is a reading and language arts teacher at Talawanda Middle School in Oxford, Ohio. 70s Lynn Grandy Butler'70 recently completed her twenty-ninth year of teaching at Fondo-Fultonville Central School. Over the years she has taught kindergarten and first and second grades. She and her husband, Gary, are in charge of music ministries in two churches. They enjoy their home in Fonda, New York. Cecilia Romine Krueger'70 became the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Award on April 26, 1999. Cecilia has been with the Clark- Shawnee Local School District for 29 years. She is presently employed as a reading recovery/title 1 teacher at Possum Elementary School in Springfield, Ohio. Daniel Acton '71 thanks his alumni friends for their prayers and support during this difficult time. Dan's wife, Jacqueline, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 1999 due to complications from cancer. Besides her husband, Jackie's family includes many Cedarville College alumni: daughter Racha Acton Gruel'96N,son-in-law John Gruet'97N, son Caleb Acton '00,sister Gloria Redinger '84,sister Ellen Redinger Wolff'79,and brother-in-law Ray Wolff'80. Don Long '71 has accepted the position of church representative for Indiana and Michigan with Shepherds Baptist Ministries. David Turner'71 is teaching on a half-time basis at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary while he works on his doctoral dissertation from Hebrew Union University in Cincinnati, Ohio. David also presented a paper at the Midwestern region meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society at Northwestern College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Cathy Shaw Preibisch'72 and her husband, Richard, celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary on June 22, 1999 with a family dinner at Peasant Stock Restaurant. Cathy taught school in Greene County(Ohio) for seven years, and Dick is a career postal employee. The couple resides in Xenia, Ohio. Charles'72 and Donna Bingham Williams'73 went on a short- term missions trip this summer to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Charles helped conduct a basketball camp, and Donna helped with Vacation Bible School(VBS).They reside in Lincoln, Nebraska. Elvin Mattison'73served as an adjunct speech professor at Spurgeon Baptist Bible College in 1998. Gary'73N and Nora Irwin Rhodes'71N celebrated their twenty- eighth wedding anniversary in May 1999.Their family joined together to watch their son, Mark, graduate from Pensacola Christian College. Michael Helling'75 is the pastor at Jamestown Presbyterian Church in Ohio. He was recently honored on the twentieth anniversary of his ordination. Thomas McDonald'76 is the professor of theology at National Native Bible College in Canada and is also the pastor at Ross Brethren Church in Mendon, Ohio. He is currently pursuing his master of theology degree from the Carolina University of Theology. William Nash'76 is president-elect of the Service Technicians Society (STS) Board of Governors. STS provides a forum for technical information exchange,skill development for technicians, and networking with other technicians, shop owners, and industry representatives. Timothy Detwiler'77 is dean of the school of arts and sciences at Cornerstone University. Leslie Leyland Fields'79 is the assistant professor of English and creative writing at the University of Alaska. She has recently had essays
