Peter Morgan ’83 and his wife, Bibiana, are missionaries with ABWE. After living, serving, and studying in the United States for two decades, they are confident that the Lord is calling them back to serve among the people of the Caribbean. Gary Brewer ’84 helped conduct strategic planning meetings in northeast India for several Christian ministries in June 2004. He also assisted with more in- depth sessions for Bibles International India Society executive members. Gary is planning a trip to Chad, Africa this fall to follow up on the progress of eight translation projects in various stages and oversee preliminary work on a Bibles International Translation Center in Chad. Randy Cook ’85 received a 2004 RadioShack National Teacher Award in May. He is among 110 educators receiving this award for demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence in mathematics, science, or technology. Randy is a science teacher at Tri County High School in Howard City, Michigan. Brad Rickard ’85 received his master of divinity degree from Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania in May 2004. Brad has been called as the senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Lansing, Michigan. He and his wife, Becky Miller Rickard ’85 , along with their two daughters, reside in the Lansing area. Doug Horne ’86 has compiled and edited The Home Discipleship Hymnbook , which contains 71 classic hymns and Psalms with guitar chords. Mary Newsome ’86 has taken a two-year sabbatical from the teaching job she has held for the past nine years in Michigan. In July, she left for the Dominican Republic, where she will be teaching at Santiago Christian School and working with a small church. Mary is very excited about what the Lord has for her. Diane Maxine Peffer ’86 graduated summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in May 2004. She received her doctorate of education in child and youth studies with an emphasis in physical education. David Beverly ’87 and his family arrived in Davao, Philippines in June 2004. They are thankful for all the prayers during their move. Jeff Leach ’87 graduated from George Mason University School of Law in Virginia in May 2004. Over the past few years he has enjoyed working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Organization of American States (OAS), and The Nature Conservancy. Jeff looks forward to continuing his work in environmental and international law. He currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. Renee Bowen Peterson ’87 received her master of education degree in administration and supervision from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland in May 2004. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point average and was honored to be the student speaker at commencement. Renee teaches English at Williamsport High School. Her husband, Tom ’87 , is a vice president at F&M Trust in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. They have two children, Kayla (14) and Marcus (13), and reside in Boonsboro, Maryland. Kevin Shaw ’87 has been named vice president of marketing and business development at The Wieland-Davco Corporation in Lansing, Michigan. His wife, Shawna (Denney) ’87 , homeschools their four children, Dylan (12), Carly (11), Aubrey (9), and Tessa (6), and serves in a variety of leadership positions within the local homeschool community. They attend South Baptist Church in Lansing and reside in Grand Ledge, Michigan. David Gehringer ’88 and his wife, Tonya, announce the birth of Luke Howard on April 15, 2004. His brother, Johnathan (2), awaited his arrival in Lebanon, Ohio. David is a sergeant for the Lebanon Police Department, and Tonya is a stay-at-home mom. They attend Urbancrest Baptist Church. Suzy Widder Krebs ’89 and her husband, Peter, announce the birth of Jonathon Aaron on March 24, 2004. Big brother Philip (8) and big sister Sarah (6) were thrilled to welcome him home in Sussex, Wisconsin. Peter is a systems analyst for SBC, and Suzy enjoys homeschooling. Beth Morse Natalello ’89 and her husband, Richard, announce the birth of Alyssa Marie. She was born January 10, 2004 and joins her brother, Nicholas (3), at home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Beth is a part-time piano teacher at Music and Arts, Inc. 90s Brian Humphreys ’90 accepted the call as pastor of Dryden Baptist Church in Dryden, New York in July 2002. His wife, Sharon (Senay) ’90 , serves alongside her husband in the ministry and works per diem as a registered nurse. They have two children, Brittany (9) and Nicholas (5). Rod ’90 and Sara Taylor Perkins ’94 are currently on furlough from Cape Town, South Africa. They are very pleased with how God has answered their prayers concerning the construction projects at Grace Baptist Church in Cape Town. Kari Clark Teachout ’91 and her husband, Randy, announce the birth of Kora Jonelle on February 9, 2004. Kari has been teaching at Kokomo Christian School (KCS) in Kokomo, Indiana since graduating, but she is looking forward to taking some time off to be with Kora. Randy is also a teacher at KCS, and both he and Kari coach at the school. Beth Davis Boyd ’92 and her husband, Phil, announce the birth of Adam Austin on April 26, 2004. He joins his two brothers, Brian (4) and Justin (3), at home in Monroe, North Carolina. Beth enjoys homeschooling, and Phil works for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Todd ’92 and Johanna Burtis Fogle ’90 announce the birth of Adam Randall on February 12, 2004. He was welcomed home by his siblings, Nathan (9) and Claire (7). They have recently relocated to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Todd is a major in the U.S. Air Force and has been selected to attend Army Command and General Staff College. In the past two and a half years, Todd has deployed four times to Afghanistan and Iraq. He has logged more than 600 combat hours in the MC-130H and was recently awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism, in addition to seven air medals. Through it all, Johanna has kept busy taking care of the family and teaching piano to 25 students. Alum Honored for Helping Save Kids U.S. Postal Inspector Steve Sadowitz ’82 was named one of two National Officers of the Year and received an award from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on May 19, 2004. Attorney General John Ashcroft made the awards presentation at a Department of Justice ceremony. Steve, along with Perry Woo, senior special agent of U.S. immigration and customs enforcement, were both given these awards in recognition of their work in dismantling an international sex tourism enterprise operating out of Dyer, Indiana and Acapulco, Mexico. As a result of the investigation, which spanned several years and took investigators from coast to coast and to Mexico, more than 15 child molesters and pornographers were identified and successfully prosecuted. In addition, more than 35 child victims were identified and rescued from further victimization. Steve and his wife, Jennifer (Livingston) ’82 , reside in Noblesville, Indiana.
