Inspire, Fall/Winter 2010
2007 Degree programs in computer science and computer engineering receive initial accreditation, retroactively applying to degrees earned in 2006. The interdisciplinary biomedical engineering minor is established. Student projects include a smart walker for handicapped children, prosthetic devices, and a surgical instrument to aid orthopedic surgeons who perform hip replacement surgeries. 2010 A senior design team begins constructing a solar water heater for the Eternal Love Winning Africa Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia. Once the heater is constructed, the team will travel to Liberia to install the new system, replacing the charcoal system the hospital currently uses to heat and sanitize its water. This project continues the integration of academics and missions championed by Cedarville’s Society of Engineers Aiding Missions. Follow the latest news from the Elmer W.
