CU Goes Mobile For app enthusiasts, cuMobile keeps the latest Cedarville news and information at their fingertips. Cedarville’s computer services team developed a free mobile application to give users easy access to CU Classifieds, course schedules, event calendars, dining hall menus, a campus map, and more. “I use the app almost every day,” said Charles Crickard ’11, a theatre major at Cedarville. “It’s nice to have access to whatever I need, when I need it. I mostly use the Find a Person feature and the campus map, and next semester, I’ll use the classifieds function to find books for classes.” The first version of the app was released in June 2010, and developers are currently working to expand features. Future releases will enable users to view password-protected information, post classifieds, and navigate through recently viewed information while offline. “We want this app to grow more useful for current students as we add features,” said Devon McCarty ’05, a programmer at Cedarville. “We also want it to be useful to prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, and even the surrounding community.” The current version is supported by the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, and Android smart phones. The development team is also researching the potential for BlackBerry support. Learn more: cedarville.edu/cumobile Android iPhone Cedarville University 3
