(All dates are subject to change.) M.S.N. Enrolling for Fall 2011 Nurses’ excellent professional skills and desire to meet the needs of others are their greatest strengths. Add authentic Christian compassion, and the nursing profession becomes a unique platform for ministry. That is the heartbeat of Cedarville’s highly regarded B.S.N. program and the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.), recently approved by the Ohio Board of Regents and The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The introduction of the M.S.N. degree program comes at a critical time. The United States faces a nursing shortage as the need for health care services continues to grow. In February 2009, 27,000 new jobs were added for nurses and other health care workers, and nurses remain the largest segment of the health care workforce. “As faculty, we will work together with the students to increase the knowledge and skills needed for meeting the demands of both domestic and global health care,” shared Dr. Janet Conway, senior professor of nursing and chair of the department. The Cedarville M.S.N. program offers three focus areas (family nurse practitioner, nurse educator, and global health ministries) to advance career opportunities. The program has full- and part-time completion options with convenient courses that fit with a working professional’s busy schedule. At the heart of Cedarville’s nursing program is the deeply rooted desire to prepare nursing professionals who excel in godly living, knowledge-based compassionate care, cultural competence, and information management by using nursing as a ministry for Christ. “A degree from Cedarville prepares graduates to use nursing to impact the Kingdom of Christ, not only domestically but also globally,” said Dr. Chu-Yu Huang, director of the M.S.N. program. Now is the time to apply! A limited number of spaces are available to qualified students for fall 2011. “The introduction of the M.S.N. degree program comes at a critical time.” Learn more: cedarville.edu/msn
