Inspire, Spring 1991

LetterFrom The Director This year of change, both personally and professionally, forces me to evaluate the past year and look at the 1991-92 plan for the Cedarville College alumni body. Thank you for your support and acceptance as the Alumni Office at Cedarville College has gone through some changes. We have attempted to add a measure of quality to the programs already offered to alumni. We have renamed the Alumni news publication, Inspire, and have tried to plan some events for our younger alumni as well as our heritage alumni. The Annual Fund reflects a record breaking year for alumni giving. Thank you for meeting the challenge! The average alumni gift is $36.65,and your gift to ensure continued quality education for Cedarville College students is greatly appreciated. The Alumni Office is also anticipating more alumni involvement with recruiting students, networking with current students, and organizing alumni activities. Your volunteer services are invaluable! We appreciate a good word spoken. Thank you for sharing your college experience with others. We also continue to receive many letters from alumni informing us of current events in their lives. Please keep in touch! Cedarville College has begun a four-year engineering program with 41 freshmen enrolled in the first year classes. Within the next year Cedarville College will continue to change as we make plans for expanding the Science Center to provide expanded laboratories and classrooms for the Science, Engineering, and Nursing departments. With our country at war and many families, friends, and loved ones involved, we are praising God for His sovereign control. We pray for our alumni--for those who hurt, those who support, those who encourage, and those who share. Piniorill tanatizstuato loom July 10-139 1991 T his summer the Alumni and Admissions offices of Cedarville College will combine their efforts to provide a motivating, challeng- ing,and fun-filled three days for alumni and church youth groups. For the past ten years, the Alumni Association has hosted the Summer Enrichment Conference(SEC)as a mini-vacation for alumni and friends. Another summer tradition for the past 13 years has been Salute to Summer,a week-end retreat for youth groups and their sponsors, hosted by the Admissions staff. Combining these two efforts seems only natural. While teens are being challenged in their Christian life, the adults will participate in workshops on a variety of topics including ministry, encouragement, and money management. You will want to plan to attend this event which will include stimulating discussion, good food, and a fun day at King's Island Amusement Park. Mark these dates on your calendar: July 10-13, 1991. And watch your mail for a special brochure with all the details of Summer Enrichment Conference and Salute to Summer! Attention,Golfers The Yellow Jacket Club will host the annual Alumni Golf Tourna- ment on Saturday, July 13,following SEC. Watch your mail for details!
