The assistant pastor is Jeff Hoenshell '84, and Donna Bratka'70 serves as secretary and children's director. T he first Chat with Alumni Forum took place during Alumni Basketball Weekend '92. The purpose ofthe panel discussion between alumni and students is to network with others in a specific career, provide role models for current students,and create contacts for students who will soon be seeking employment.In conjunction with the Director of Career Planning and Placement, Dave Gaffner '69,and several professors, the Alumni Association targeted some non-technical majors such as English, psychology, physical education,and political science,to be represented. The students and alumni present asked various questions ofthe alumni panel dealing with breaking into careers, further education,and money matters. SIBS WEEKEND Vini Jaquery '82 served as a Portuguese translator for the recent Billy Graham evangelistic campaign in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Nearly 250,000 attended the four-day crusade. Up to five million people in 20 Latin American countries attended satellite meetings to watch broadcasts of Graham's messages. Vini is executive director of International Reach, Inc., a ministry which facilitates the adoption of abandoned Brazilian children into Christian families. About400 Li'l sibsjoined their brothers and sisters for the weekend February 7-9. Marnie Bauer welcomed her brother Aaron,all the way from Milwaukee,to enjoy the basketball game and other fun events. NISOA has been recognizing one collegiate and one high school soccer coach nationwide for nearly two decades. Recipients are cited for their character and behavior before, during,and after the game toward their own players,the opponent players and coaches,and the officials. Their sportsmanlike manner is also reflected in the attitude and behavior ofthe players on their team. In nominating McGillivray, Walt Ersing, president of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Officials said that John was an easy choice."He fully represents the spirit and intent of...this award.He is recognized by his players as a person who not only places high standards on their personal conduct during a game,but challenges them to live in a manner ofthe highest quality in all aspects of their life,including physical, mental,social,and spiritual. He is recognized by those officials who handle matches in which his team is playing either home or away as a gentleman among gentlemen." McGillivray has held his post at Cedarville for the past 18 years and has a career record of 175-138-16. The OCSOA gave him their first-ever Distinguished Merit Award in 1990. 5 Spring'92
