A lumni Association News T he purpose ofthe AlumniAssociation shall be the promotion ofthe interests ofCedarville College and the provision ofChristianfellowship, information, education, and service opportunities to the glory ofGod. Welcoming New Alumni Council Members Mavis Wu'95 Mavis was very active as a Cedarville College student and will be continuing her involvement with the College as a member of the Alumni Council. As a student, Mavis was a member ofPhi Gamma Psi,Pi Delta(campus tour hosts), and the SGA executive council. She was also active in Christian ministries both with the Mueller Home and Open Heirs. She graduated in 1995 with a degree in elementary education. Mavis teaches fifth grade at an elementary schooljust outside Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also involved with the children's ministries at Colonial Baptist Church. The Alumni Council and the Alumni Association as a whole will benefit greatly from Mavis'enthusiasm and ability to generate many innovative ideas. She has already agreed to be a Regional Alumni Coordinator for the Raleigh/Durham area and is eager to get in touch with anyone in that area who would like to help plan activities. David "Kelly" Fath '91 David Kelly Fath is a 1991 political science graduate of Cedarville College. While at Cedarville, Kelly displayed and enriched his leadership abilities by serving asjunior class chaplain,a resident assistant, and student body president. His many activities as well as his academic success earned him the President's Trophy. Upon graduating, Kelly worked in the college admissions office as an admissions counselor and college representative. Kelly then went on to Georgetown University Law Center and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995. Since that time, Kelly has worked as an associate attorney at Scholten & Fant and is currently pursuing a degree at Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary. An active Regional Alumni Coordinator, Kelly has already hosted several alumni gatherings in the Grand Rapids area and has been involved in the implementation of the Regional Alumni Coordinator program. His attention to detail and ability to envision will enhance the Alumni Council's ability to provide quality service to the Cedarville College Alumni Assocation. Hicks Comyletes Service on Alumni.Council; Bouquet Carries New-Responsibility Major Daniel Hicks'85, USAF,and Sherry Rotramel Bouquet'87joined the Alumni Council in 1993. Quickly finding their niches on the council, both membersjumped into serving the Alumni Association wholeheartedly. During the November 1997 meeting the Alumni Council said farewell to Dan,restructured Sherry's position by adding a ninth position to the Alumni Council,and thanked the two for their faithful service to the Council as they completed their four-year terms. Dan brought his enthusiam for Cedarville, expertise in logistics management,and willingness to serve other alumni to the council meetings. Dan was secretary of the Alumni Council for two years and was key in challenging its eight members to raise $10,000 for the Dixon Ministry Center Campaign.Dan has recently been promoted to the rank of major in the U.S.Air Force and in July 1997 was transfered from Oklahoma City to Quantico, Virginia. Dan and his wife, Jeanne(Pippin '78), have four children. Sherry Rotramel Bouquet'87 served the Alumni Council as president-elect and president. She has also paved the way for Alumni Council representation on the Cedarville College Board of Trustees. In spring 1997, Sherry was asked to join the Board,serving as a representative from the Alumni Council and Association. As Sherry's term on the Council was almost complete,the Council restructured the traditional number of members from eight to nine so that Sherry's liason position between the Alumni Association and the Board ofTrustees would continue throughout her trustee appointment. Sherry looks forward to future service and is honored to be asked to serve her alma mater in this capacity by lending her human resources expertise to both the Council and the Board.She is one of six alumni now serving on • Cedarville's Board ofTrustees. Sherry and her husband, John,live in Ashland,Ohio, where John is the pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.The Bouquets have three preschool children.
