Letters to Linda Brad Silvius ’92 shares about his breakthrough in his pursuit of a writing career. For almost seven years, I attempted to start a writing career. During my six years at Ford Motor Company, I spent countless hours “night writing” in hopes of getting my first book published. In January of 2000, I left Ford to pursue this dream on a full-time basis. Through what can only be described as the hand of God, one of my book proposals was chosen by Floyd Wickman to be his next book: a novel about life’s greatest lessons. Floyd is a world-renowned motivational speaker, traveling with the likes of Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, and the late Og Mandino. Floyd chose my concept for a book titled Letters to Linda, a novel based on Floyd’s life and geared toward not only explaining Floyd’s life lessons, but also his faith in Christ. A year and a half later, the book is finally available! In its first month of release, it is selling extremely well and the reviews are outstanding. Some are comparing it to Tuesdays with Morrie. In fact, Mark Victor Hansen, co-creator of the Chicken Soup series, said, “Letters to Linda is compelling, interesting, heart-absorbing, and absolutely memorable.” I would invite you to visit the official Web site at www.LettersToLinda.com , where you can learn all about the book and read reviews.
