Jill Shearer ’00 and Mike Rippy were married November 25, 2006 and reside in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jill is a teacher and auctioneer, and Mike is a photographer at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Brittany Smith ’00 married James Napier on June 17, 2006 in Atlanta. After a honeymoon in Hawaii, Jim and Brittany settled in Buford, Georgia, where they both work for F.A.T.S. (Firearm Training Systems) — Jim as a software group manager and Brittany as a project coordinator. Sara Tomkinson Beachy ’01 and her husband, Daryl, celebrated two years of marriage on November 27, 2006. They lived in Rochester, New York while Sara completed her master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner at the University of Rochester. After her May 2005 graduation, they moved to their current home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Sara is a nurse practitioner for an allergy and immunology practice. Daryl is an aircraft maintenance and flight instructor at the School of Missionary Aviation Technology (SMAT). They enjoy outdoor pursuits and building relationships with SMAT students and families. Jennifer Madsen Leeds ’01 and her husband, Tim, announce the birth of Christian Davis on January 29, 2006. They reside in Tuckerton, New Jersey. Amanda Byrd Morin ’01 and her husband, Alex, are grateful for their four years of marriage and their two daughters. Jocelyn Anna-Josee was born July 25, 2005 and Bronwyn Tate on November 2, 2006. They currently reside in Connecticut while Alex completes his fellowship training at Yale. In July, they will make their home in Georgia. Shawn Stephens ’01 and David Hansen were married July 22, 2006 at Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Saint Lucia. Dave is a lieutenant colonel in the USAF and is a support systems team leader for the joint strike fighter (F-35) program in Arlington, Virginia. Shawn is an event consultant for an investment bank in downtown D.C. Micah Thirey ’01 and Elizabeth de Boer ’01 were married in Lynden, Washington on August 5, 2006. After a honeymoon in the San Juan Islands, they have returned to their home in Gales Ferry, Connecticut, where Micah is stationed at children and student ministries at Living Hope Church. Jess Gamiere ’99 is an associate for Ulmer & Berne LLP, one of Ohio’s largest law firms. Jess joins the business litigation group in the Cleveland office. Susan Dunham Irwin ’99 and her husband, David, announce the birth of Kristen Michelle on September 26, 2006. After three miscarriages, they are very thankful for the miracle and have dedicated her by naming her Kristen Michelle, which means “one who follows God.” Joshua ’99 and Caren Furst Michael ’00 announce the birth of Thomas Jonathan on July 18, 2006. Joshua is an assistant librarian at Baptist Bible College (and will be promoted to library director in June), and Caren is a part-time registered nurse and stay-at-home mom in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. Steve ’99 and Sarah Grapentine Strong ’99 announce the birth of Kathryn Faith on December 4, 2006. Katie joins her three brothers, Jared (5), Collin (4), and Jacob (2). Steve is the youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Westlake, Ohio. After a year of preparation and study, Steve was ordained on October 22, 2006. Bill ’99 and Molly Rexford Woods ’01 announce the birth of Noah Milton on September 6, 2006. His brother, Will (2), awaited his arrival in Dilltown, Pennsylvania. Bill works in business, and Molly enjoys staying at home with the boys. 2000s Derek ’00 and Rachel Griffin Chandler ’99 announce the birth of Breanna Rachel on February 28, 2006. She was welcomed home by big sisters Alexis (4) and Lydia (2). Derek works for Flexfab LLC in Hastings, Michigan, and Rachel enjoys home-schooling and staying home with the girls. Mark ’00 and Christine Wiesert Collins ’99 announce the birth of Adam Michael on December 13, 2005. Mark is a third-year medical student at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Christine is a physician assistant at Moffitt Cancer Center. They are expecting their second child in April. James Murdock ’00 and his wife, Amanda, announce the birth of Maizie Charlotte on December 7, 2006. They reside in Ann Arbor, Michigan. the New London submarine base. Micah is a lieutenant and an instructor in the U.S. Navy, and Elizabeth is a registered nurse. Jason Holland ’02 and Sandy Swales ’00 were married in Lewisberry, Pennsylvania on April 2, 2005. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Thailand. Jason is a sales representative for Balaton Marketing, based in Richmond, Virginia, where he trains employees on home theatre equipment. Sandy received her master of divinity degree from Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, Ontario and is a clinical supervisor for Catholic Charities. They reside in Etters, Pennsylvania. Alex ’02 and Amy Harrison Kauffman ’03 announce the birth of Stuart on April 13, 2006. They reside in Lincoln, Nebraska. Elizabeth Whitley ’02 has had several new opportunities to get involved with the students at Vienna Christian School in Austria. She is mentoring a group of girls and leading a Bible study, along with helping lead student council. She enjoys getting to know more of the students and is considering staying at the school through June 2008. Erin Smith Wilson ’02 and her husband, Joe, announce the birth of Grace Elizabeth on March 25, 2006. They live in St. Louis, Missouri, where Joe is manager of a shoe store. Erin works part-time at Sports Authority and also helps run the sound for their growing church, The Journey. Amy Wood ’02 and Thomas Forsberg were married in Vestal, New York on June 3, 2006. They both work at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Amy is a medical social worker, and Tom is an emergency room physician in his first year of residency. Alan ’03 and Heidi Wright Bruder ’03 announce the birth of Jack Elliott on July 18, 2006. They reside in West Branch, Michigan, where Alan is an assistant vice president at First Bank. After teaching for three years, Heidi now stays home with Jack. They enjoy serving the Lord as assistant youth leaders at Calvary Baptist Church. Inspire 31
