a lumnotes 36 spring 2009 Kristi (Jonker) Calkins ’02 and her husband, Chris, announce the birth of Annalisa Grace on April 24, 2008. After 22 years working as an electrician, Chris loves being a stay- at-home dad and remodeling their home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Kristi received her master’s degree in teaching with technology in August 2007 and is a fourth-grade teacher. Jenney (Flood) Dray ’02 and her husband, Matt, announce the birth of Jackson Patrick. He was born on June 27, 2008, and welcomed home by his brother, James (2). Matt is a police officer, and Jenney runs a home day care in Xenia, Ohio. Nicole (Carpenter) Lovelady ’02 and her husband, William, announce the birth of Elizabeth Stacy on May 8, 2008. William is in the Navy, and Nicole is a stay-at-home mom in Taveres, Florida. Eric ’02 and Erin (Vallowe) Mitchell ’01 announce the birth of Cooper Ryan. He was born on April 19, 2008, and joined his brother, Cole (3), in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Eric is a surgery resident, and Erin enjoys staying home with the boys. Kim (Leverson) Toven ’02 and her husband, Todd, announce the birth of Hannah Rose on June 7, 2007. Kim and Todd both work for a closed captioning company near Denver, Colorado, and are blessed to work from home the majority of the time. Mark Jaskilka ’03 and Lisa Olson were married December 29, 2007, in Newbury Park, California. Mark is a film editor, and Lisa directs the dance ministry at their church. recent events February 12 — Birmingham Regional Event At the Marriott Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama, several alumni joined Dr. and Mrs. Bill Brown for dinner and learned more about new things happening at Cedarville. February 19 — Dallas Chapter Event Alumni and guests from the Grapevine, Texas, area enjoyed meeting Jeff Beste ’87, director of alumni relations, and Dr. Bill Brown, who gave a campus update and answered questions from the group. March 5 — Orlando Chapter Event Alumni from central Florida gathered at Camp Gilead in Polk City for a cookout by the lake. Guests enjoyed mini golf, carpet ball, and pingpong, as well as great food and fellowship!
