Inspire, Spring 2011
overheard What’s not to love about Chuck’s? Cedarville’s dining hall is full of food, friends, and some of our favorite campus memories. But please don’t steal the fruit. During one homecoming weekend, an event booth awarded live goldfish as game prizes. When my friends and I found one of the goldfish in a cup of water in Chuck’s, I swallowed it for $1 . Amy (Dennis) Lett ’09, Durham, North Carolina After eating only healthy food for months, the cross country team would meet in the dining hall at the close of the season. Going through the dinner lines, we’d say, “Nothing, please,” to the servers. Then we would fill bowls with huge piles of ice cream and compete to see who could eat the most. I think Gary Anderson ’85 always won. Dean Johnson ’83, Plymouth, Michigan Someone stuck a really big bullfrog in one of the juice coolers. Audrey (Cunningham) Cahilly ’79, Dumont, New Jersey What is your favorite dining hall memory? 8 spring 2011
