They have been encouraged by the responses. Patty Neely Zemmer ’76 and her husband, Dave, spent the first few months of 2005 visiting their supporting churches in the States. They considered it a joy to participate in or teach classes and to be involved in a variety of ways during mission conferences. They serve with ABWE in Brazil. In February 2005, he was thrilled to be able to perform his drama about the life of William Tyndale and the story behind the making of the English Bible. One year ago, they moved south to Porto Alegre to organize and administrate a language school where all new ABWE missionaries will study Portuguese. They are also involved with church planting and leadership development. They have three children, Jacqueline (15), Nicholas (13), and Breanna (10). Nancy Hall DeValve ’81 and her husband, John, share that the church building project in Tera, West Africa is underway. They praise God that the security wall is finished, and they plan to start building the church soon. Pray for the health and safety of the workers, as all the work is done by hand in very high heat. This training offered guidance in the work of evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and Bible-teaching. Dennis Bellew ’65 and his wife, Frances, are taking a mission trip with the International Bible College mission majors in July 2005. They will travel to Toronto, Canada to help a local missionary. They are thankful for the new construction and new activities that will be ready for this summer. Wisdom in Your Hands Dr. Dan Estes ’74 is the author of the Handbook on the Wisdom Books and Psalms, which is to be released in December 2005 by Baker Academic. According to Dr. Estes, the book is intended for college and seminary students, pastors, and Bible teachers. For all five of the Bible books covered, Dr. Estes offers an introduction, an exposition in which he interacts with key commentaries and articles written in the past 10 years, and full bibliographies for further study. “In the book, I am trying to build a bridge between the student of the Bible and the scholarly research that has been done on the wisdom books and Psalms, so that the pastor, teacher, and student can make use of the recent study that has been done by many scholars,” noted Dr. Estes. “My prayer is that this book will greatly enhance the teaching and preaching of these important books of the Bible.” Dr. Estes is distinguished professor of Bible at Cedarville University.
