30 Summer 2007 Inspire 31 alumnotes alumnotes Jessica Stevenson Molyneux ’01 and her husband, Andrew, reside in Toledo, Ohio with their three children, Madeline Lisby (3), Edward Andrew (2), and Clayton Aaron (1). Andrew is a quality manager and will complete his undergraduate degree from Liberty University this fall. They attend Monclova Road Baptist Church, where they are very active in ministries. They are seeking God’s will as they prepare for full-time mission/ministry. Ryan Stern ’01 and Erin Kuyper ’03 were married March 31, 2007 in Xenia, Ohio. After a honeymoon in the Smoky Mountains, they returned to their home in Springfield, Ohio, where Ryan is a math teacher at Northeastern High School. Erin is a fourth grade teacher at Pathway School of Discovery in Dayton. They attend Kemp Road Baptist Church in Beavercreek and enjoy the opportunities that they have to grow and serve there. Lori Jane Turner ’01 and Ondra Pavelka were married December 30, 2006, in Roanoke, Virginia. A second celebration was held two weeks later in Pribor, Czech Republic, the hometown of the groom. Lori teaches English and works part-time with Child Evangelism Fellowship, while Ondra is a student and runs his own Internet business. They reside in Pribor. Lisa Ables ’02 and Martin Colon were married February 10, 2007, at a private sunrise ceremony on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. They reside in Huber Heights, Ohio. Rebecca DeSantis Emmott ’02 and her husband, Lukas, announce the birth of Ezekiel Whitcomb. He joins big sister Eliora at their home near Jamestown, New York. Lukas is a plumber, and Rebecca is a stay-at-home mom. Glori Goheen ’02 is the manager of the Essenhaus Inn and Conference Center in Goshen, Indiana. Rachel Frey Harshbarger ’02 and her husband, Ryan, announce the birth of Abigail Grace on March 9, 2006. They reside in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Bethany Keilman ’02 and Jordan Braman were married April 22, 2006, in Allen Park, Michigan. The couple attends Bethesda Baptist Church and made their home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jordan works as a firefighter for Superior Township Fire Department, and Bethany works as a nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital’s Emergency Department in Ypsilanti. Kim Leverson ’02 and Todd Toven were married August 13, 2006, in the beautiful Colorado mountains near Genesee. They had their first child in June and are thankful for the blessings this busy year has brought. They reside in Castle Rock, Colorado. Eric ’02 and Erin Vallowe Mitchell ’01 announce the birth of Cole Anthony on December 17, 2005. In June, Eric graduated from medical school. Erin teaches part-time and enjoys staying at home with Cole. Timothy ’02 and Amanda Pilgrim Priano ’02 announce the birth of Ryan George on January 18, 2007. Ryan was welcomed home by his older siblings Joey and Rebekah, 21 months old. Jonathan ’02 and Amber Durbin Purdy ’02 announce the births of their two sons: Ian Jack, born on January 27, 2005, and Peyton Andrew, born on October 25, 2006. Jonathan works on the family farm while Amber enjoys staying home with the boys. They reside in Woodstock, Ohio. Eric Babson ’03 and his wife, Lesley, announce the birth of Ava Janae on November 7, 2006. They currently reside in Wichita, Kansas, where Eric is stationed at McConnell AFB as a KC-135 pilot. Ryan ’03 and Emily Pfeister Flunker ’04 are excited that they are only one year away from full-time missions in the Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera. They were able to go to the island this spring and had a beneficial time with their missionary friends. Ryan is attending Dallas Theological Seminary, and Emily is a kindergarten teacher. Julie Quinn Moore ’03 and her husband, Nathan, announce the birth of Addison Grace on October 27, 2006. They reside in south Florida, where Julie teaches third grade at a public elementary school. Devin T. Robinson ’03 and his wife, Adeliz Rivera Padilla, announce the birth of Kerri Elizabeth on July 14, 2006. Devin is the media production supervisor at Creative Broadcast Concepts in Biddeford, Maine. Tami Weber Cernetic ’04 and her husband, Josh, announce the birth of Asher William on January 28, 2007. Josh owns a landscaping company, and Tami enjoys staying home with Asher. They reside in Xenia, Ohio. Cory ’04 and Rebekah Clark Henwood ’05 announce the birth of Katelyn Evelyn on March 6, 2007. They reside in Columbus, Mississippi, where Cory is a U.S. Air Force instructor pilot at Columbus Air Force Base. Rachel Mahl ’04 is the director of business development for Accent on Business, a voice and speech coaching firm for business leaders and associates. She had previously been the membership development director at Rainmakers Marketing Group, where she took the membership from 200 to 700 members in two years. She has now assumed the role of assistant vice president for Rainmakers along with her work for Accent on Business. Rachel resides in Fishers, Indiana. Michael Ensslen ’05 and Heather Grier ’06 were married July 22, 2006, in Paradise, Pennsylvania. They now reside in Baltimore, Maryland, where Heather is a third grade teacher and Michael is in a master’s program at Johns Hopkins University. Emily Cook ’05 and Scott Howes were married on May 22, 2004, in Xenia, Ohio. They reside in Xenia. Andrew Smith ’05 and Becky Wells ’06 were married May 13, 2006, at Gull Lake Ministries Chapel in Gull Lake, Michigan. They now reside in Kettering, Ohio. Andrew is employed by NCR in the tax department, and Becky is a nurse at Kettering Hospital. Kyle Ferguson ’06 and Megan Heagy ’06 were married November 25, 2006, at Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They now live in Centerville, Ohio. Kyle teaches sixth grade math and science in Kings District, and Megan is a nurse at Miami Valley Hospital. Kevin Hall ’06 and Bethany Butters ’05 were married June 17, 2006 in Springboro, Ohio. Kevin attends The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and works as an assistant to Dr. Chuck Lawless, dean of the Billy Graham School of Missions, Evangelism, and Church Growth. Bethany is a pediatric intensive care unit nurse at Kosair Children’s Hospital. They reside in Louisville, Kentucky. Jeremiah Stephens ’06 and Kimberly Feiler ’07 were married January 6, 2007, in Warrington, Pennsylvania. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Hawaii and have made their home in Crofton, Maryland. Jeremy is the youth director at Faith Community Church in Gambrills, Maryland, and Kim is a behavior technician for the school district’s infant and toddler special education program. Chad Viront ’06 and Richelle Clem ’05 were married January 6, 2007, at First Baptist Church of Elkhart, Indiana. They had a wonderful honeymoon in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and now live in Massillon, Ohio. Chad is the middle school youth pastor at Canton Baptist Temple. Richelle is a test administrator for GE and a high school volleyball coach. In Memory We extend our condolences to the family and friends of these dear loved ones. Marge Lott Bodwell ’42 went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2007. She retired in 1978 after spending close to 30 years as a schoolteacher. Upon retiring she began restoring her ancestral home in Xenia, Ohio. Marge was very involved with Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed volunteering at the Greene County Historical Society. D. Wayne Evans ’50 went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2007, in Rio Grande, Ohio after a battle with lung cancer. He was a Korean War veteran and spent many years as a school administrator. He became active in local affairs when he and his wife, Marjorie, retired. Pat Howard ’80 went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2007. He passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack in Hamilton, Ohio. Pat worked for WCDR in the early 1980s. He leaves behind Christy Jane Rees ’78 and their children, Jamie, Gaby, Cait, and Joe. An Amazing Church Presents Amazing Opportunities for Evangelism Kevin Batista ’03 is serving at Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas as one of eight youth pastors preaching the gospel to more than 1,500 middle and high school students each week. “It’s an amazing church,” he remarked. “With a passion for evangelism and excellence, God is using Fellowship Church to aggressively pursue the hearts of thousands who are lost.” The church is currently expanding to multiple locations in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, and Kevin has been asked to start a new student ministry at the downtown Dallas location. He and his wife, Kimberly Wills Batista ’02 , look forward to seeing God change many more lives through this new endeavor.
