32 Summer 2007 Inspire 33 alumni association news Recent Alumni Gatherings March 3 — Ft. Lauderdale, Florida While in the area for Spring Break, the student alumni organization, Delta Alpha Epsilon, met up with a number of alumni at a local restaurant. Many great CU memories were shared! March 6 — Bonita Springs, Florida Dr. Dixon and his wife, Pat, joined a group of alumni for dessert at a local restaurant. Dr. Dixon shared what he has been up to lately and what is new at CU. May 19 — Colorado Chapter Event in Denver, Colorado The Colorado Chapter spent a day of service with Open Door Ministries where alumni came to help with their 10-year anniversary celebration block party. March 9 — Orlando Chapter Event in Orlando, Florida The Orlando Chapter hosted Dr. Brown for an evening of fellowship in the home of Lynne Smith West ’96 and her husband, Jim. The guests enjoyed hearing from Dr. Brown what was going on back at campus. April 16 — Miami Valley Chapter Event in Dayton, Ohio The Miami Valley Chapter enjoyed a great night at the ballpark as they watched the CU baseball team play Indiana Wesleyan at Fifth Third Field (home of the Dayton Dragons). Please save the date for the first chapter event on Saturday, August 4. As a chapter, we will be sending off new and current CU students for the fall, so this would be a great way to support CU in the area. The event will be held at the home of our chapter trustee, Al Stevens. His home is located on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. We realize that this may be quite a drive for some of you, but hope you will be able to join us as we savor the last days of summer on the shore. Dr. Bill Brown, president of Cedarville University, will be in attendance, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity to interact with him.
