a lumnotes 32 SUMMER 2009 Megan (McMacken) Rock ’97 and her husband, John, announce the birth of Gemma Sophia on February 12, 2009. Gemma joins siblings Sela (5) and Evan (3) in Chesterfield, Michigan. Megan stays home with the children, and John is in full-time ministry to nursing home and adult foster care residents through The Sharing Org. David Staedtler ’97 and Angela Hartman ’94 were married on March 15, 2008, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. As of this August, they serve in the Czech Republic with TEAM Ministries. Previously, Angie was a nurse practitioner, and Dave worked with an inner-city ministry. Kirk LeBlanc ’98 has been placed on the 2009 Indiana Rising Stars listing in the Indiana Super Lawyers magazine. Only 5 percent of the 15,000 lawyers in the state are included on this list. Kirk is a civil litigation defense attorney for Norris, Choplin, & Schroeder in Indianapolis. Samantha (Polgardy) Mulder ’98 and her husband, Matt, announce the birth of Fiona Jane. Big brother Ethan Frederick (3) welcomed her home on October 25, 2008. Matt is a chemist in a drug discovery lab at Vanderbilt University, and Sam serves on the nurse-midwifery faculty at Vanderbilt. Aaron ’98 and Jo (Stankiewicz) Pettersen ’99 announce the birth of Sara Jo on April 17, 2008. She was welcomed home by her brother, Isaac (2), in Indianapolis, Indiana. Aaron works at Northwest Financial Services, and Jo stays home and homeschools the kids. Elizabeth (Barker) Philpott ’98 and her husband, Neil, announce the birth of John Clark on August 2, 2008. Their daughter, Mary (5), is thankful for the brother she prayed years for God to provide. They reside near Atlanta, Georgia, and enjoy homeschooling. recent events May 9 — Cleveland Chapter Event The rain and cold couldn’t keep 100 alumni and friends from cheering on the Cleveland Indians! Even though the Indians lost, a great time was had by all. June 12 — Nashville Chapter Event Who doesn’t enjoy a night at the ballpark? Alumni had a memorable time at Faith Night with the Nashville Sounds. The pre-game concert by Revive and fireworks after the game added to the fun! May 31 — Greenville Chapter Event Monkey Joe’s was a perfect location for kids and adults alike to fellowship, play games, and enjoy pizza while reminiscing about their Cedarville memories.
