Residents at Life Care Center of Estero, Florida, found out on March 9 when they were visited by Cedarville’s golf team. While the team was training over spring break in Naples, they stopped by the center for a Wii bowling tournament with the senior residents. Ryan Bowen ’91, the team’s coach, set up the visit with Jim Breuler ’91, who was Ryan’s roommate during college and now serves as the center’s executive director. Jim began inviting the residents to the event. When he told resident Gladys Fritz that a group of college boys from his alma mater was coming to play Wii bowling, she immediately made a hair appointment at the facility’s beauty parlor. “I just love seeing and talking to young people,” she said. “I can’t wait!” The students and residents had a lot of fun together. “In a week marked by many of God’s blessings on our team, it was a privilege to spend time serving and ministering to the residents at Life Care Center,” said Ben Mounts ’11. Their coach agreed. “During our spring break week — when we focus mostly on ourselves — it was nice to be able to shift the focus to others,” Ryan said. “It was special to see the residents’ faces light up as we shared time together. We could tell that we made their day! Many thanks to Jim and his staff for making us feel very welcome.” Resident Gladys Fritz (above) thoroughly enjoyed the Wii bowling tournament. alumni spotlight “It was special to see the residents’ faces light up as we shared time together.
