F our years ago, Cedarville began the membership process to join the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). On July 12, 2012, Cedarville was approved as an active Division II (DII) institution (effective September 1, 2012). Pursuing NCAA membership is among the most significant decisions in the history of University athletics. To understand what makes this move so momentous, Inspire asked University President Bill Brown and Athletic Director Alan Geist ’83 to explain what’s ahead for Cedarville athletics and what we — as alumni, fans, and student- athletes — can expect from this move.
