Dr. Jeremiah brought a series of messages on worshipping God which inspired the student body, faculty, and staff not to overlook this important activity of the Christian life. The week intertwined music, scripture, prayer, and stories of the Jeremiah household when Dave was a young boy. Cedarville Continues Growth Cedarville College enjoyed a fall enrollment of 2,046 students, the largest in its 104-year history. The enrollment represents an increase of73% since 1978,the first year of Dr.Paul Dixon's tenure as president. Cedarville students come from 45 states and 15 foreign countries. The incoming 535 freshmen include a record number of top scholars. The average freshman scored in the top 25 percent of college-bound students on college entrance exams. Sixty-one scored in the top two percent of the nation, qualifying them as President's Scholars. Seven were finalists and three were semi-finalists in the National Merit or National Achievement programs. Cedarville has expanded facilities and added faculty to accommodate the increasing student population. When the $7 million Engineering/ Nursing Center is completed next fall,95% of the College's classrooms will have been built or refurbished in the last ten years. Left back...A11 ahead...Protect your bucket...Belay on...Belay off..."Lift yourfeet, Bill!"... "What is your gift?" This fall a group of26 from Cedarville College, including 3 staff and 23 students, headed for the hills of West Virginia. Their mission was not only to make the transition from varied summer experiences back to a Cedarville College mind-set, but also to come together as a team. This team, "Twentysomething," would then provide direction for small group leaders and new students during Getting Started '91,the orientation program for new students and their parents. The white water rafting, rappelling, camp fires, van tides, and eating together all became vehicles to draw the team together. The experiences shared made memories for a lifetime. These memories, now triggered by the words and phrases above, may have little meaning without the context of being there. But if you were there,"Give It The Kutasch" or"G.I.T.K." had special meaning as you went"over the edge." Engineering/Nursing Center Update Contractors plan to have the new Engineering/Nursing Center under roof, bricked, with glass installed by December 1. Completion date is August 1, 1992. We thank God for the $3.7 million already committed to the project and look toward the goal of having $4.7 million committed by January 1992. The building will provide general education and additional science classrooms as well as service the Engineering and Nursing Departments.
