Nearly 400 men took part in the annual Cedarville College Open Golf Tournament September 10-11. Tim Birk of Ypsilanti, Michigan won the championship flight with a 36-hole total of 144. This was Birks fifth win of the Cedarville event. A number of the golfers indicated spiritual needs as a result of the evening preaching service. Dr. Paul Dixon delivered the message, and professors James Colman and Michael DiCuirci provided special music. The Career Services Office sponsored the eleventh annual Career Day on October 20. Representatives of businesses in the tri-state area came to campus to talk with students concerning job possibilities with their companies. A popular event with seniors, this forum brings several alumni back to campus to recruit soon-to-be Cedarville College alumni. Career Services also sponsors Nurse Recruitment Day and the Christian School Recruitment Conference. Regional Gathering Update os Angeles,South Bend, Minneapolis,and Cedarville are just a few ofthe gathering spots for Cedarville College alumni this fall. What a wonderful spirit we have seen among alumni all over the country. They are amazed to hear about the changes that have taken place on campus—the new computer network,Engineering/Nursing/Science Center,and the addition to Willetts Dormitory. Eric'84 and Gloria Scott Hellwig '84N enjoyed a picnic in the park with alumni, parents, and prospective students in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Alumni attending the South Bend ACSI Convention and area residents gathered for a breakfast at the Marriott Hotel in downtown South Bend, Indiana. Approximately 40 enjoyed the share-a-dish picnic lunch and conversation with friends. Roger Michel '80 and his family drove from Oceanside to join the afternoon party. His daughter Eden won the Cedarville College alumni sweatshirt and looks forward to wearing it when she attends Cedarville.
