In fall sports, the Lady Jackets'cross country team won three invitationals and placed eighth out of 36 teams in the All-Ohio Championship.Sophomore Michelle Burson was the team's top runner in every race. In men's cross country, the Yellow Jackets were ranked as high as 24th in the NAIA.The men finished in the top three in three cross-country meets and placed 18th out of 40 teams in the All- Ohio. Senior Pete Simons was the squad's number one runner. Since July 1990,Jon Purple has been associate dean at Cedarville College. Jon and his wife, Donna,demonstrate commitment to God and a love for young people as they have developed friendships with students. On July 1, 1994, Donna was diagnosed with cancer. Just after Homecoming 1994, their doctor reported there has been dramatic improvement—some of the small tumors have disappeared, and some of the larger ones have reduced in size! The Purples praise God for this good report and covet your continued prayers as Donna undergoes chemotherapy and cares for their daughter, Jessica (10). 111 4"‹ Reunion time at the 'Ville! Sandy Millikin Entner'59 and Ruth Yost'59 rekindle a long- lasting friendship while enjoying the Homecoming parade. Several parade entries recall the area's historical events and figures in keeping with the theme Celebrate Greene County. Amy Barnes, a senior nursing major from Southampton, Pennsylvania, smiles as she is presented as the 1994 Homecoming Queen. Jim Spaulding is her happy escort. Kezia McNeal'92 travels northward from Georgia to perform both in Thursday's chapel and in the Prism XIV concert Friday evening. Members of the class of 1979 and their families fill up on ice cream sundaes as they celebrate their 15 Year Reunion. "Going once, going twice, SOLD"shouts Steve Thompson '79, auctioneer for the Alumni Scholarship Auction which raised over $14,000 toward the scholarship fund. Leslie Leyland Fields'79, a part- time instructor at the University of Alaska, speaks in chapel. She and her husband, Duncan '78, had just returned from Kodiak, Alaska. Duncan is a lawyer and commercial fisherman. Val Roloff'65 addresses the College family in chapel during Homecoming week. Val is an inhalation toxicologist with Monsanto Fund. He resides in St. Charles, Missouri. Tom Bonifield '92 provides a special children's program during the Alumni Chapel Service, holding the attention of over 100 children with Bible truths and entertainment. 6 WINTER'95
