Scott Hartley, a senior mechanical engineering major,spent May 30- August5 in the nation's capital as an intern with WISE(Washington Internships for Students of Engineering). Scott was one of 12 WISE interns selected from over 180 applicants. Representatives in Washington selected students who were not only outstanding academically, but also involved in relevant extracurricular activities and interested in public policy. During Scott's internship, he wrote a research paper, met with constituents from a variety of government departments,and heard faculty from George Washington University speak about issues that the interns were studying.
