Spurred by 676 new freshmen, Cedarville broke the 2,500 mark this fall when 2,509 students enrolled at the College—a sixth consecutive record enrollment. Vice President for Enrollment Management David Ormsbee'78 is pleased with the results."We are grateful for both the quantity and quality of students who chose to attend Cedarville this year," said Ormsbee. In addition to strong Christian testimonies, the GPAs and ACT/SAT scores of this year's freshmen are at an all-time high. Forty-one percent came from Christian high schools and two percent from home schools. The west wing of the Dixon Ministry Center has been named The Bolthouse Center for Music in honor of William and Nora Bolthouse of Bakersfield, California. Mr. Bolthouse is president and CEO of Wm. Bolthouse Farms, Inc., a world leader in carrot production. Mrs. Bolthouse continues to influence the lives of her children and grandchildren for the Lord and has touched others through her exemplary prayer life and coaching Bible quiz teams in their church. Longtime friends of the College, both model traits held in high esteem by Cedarville College and the Department of Music. The Reese Center for Christian Ministries, home to the College's Division of Christian Ministries, honors Bob and Polly Reese of Elkhart, Indiana. Bob helped found Reese Products, Inc., a premiere manufacturer of trailer hitches and other equipment. Polly is a career wife, mother, and grandmother. Both take an active interest in missions and in missionaries around the world, as well as diligently serving in their local church.The Reeses have been friends of the College for many years and embody the spirit that the Division of Christian Ministries desires to help instill in Cedarville students. 8 WINTER'96 Columbus,Ohio Over 100 alumni,family members,and friends participated in Cedarville College Day at the Columbus Zoo on September 28, 1996.The Alumni Association provided complimentary tickets for alumni and their families to visit the zoo with the lunch hour set aside for fellowship with all who attended. Dave Bennett'87 organized the day's event with assistance from alumni council member Amy Womack'81. Milwaukee,Wisconsin Led by Board of Trustee members William "Chip" Bernhard '77 and Gil Brueckner,over 70 alumni and friends of Cedarville College enjoyed an evening offellowship with Dr. Paul Dixon, Cedarville College president, and Roscoe Smith '82,director of public relations. On August 24, 1996,an alumni reception was held at Garfield Baptist Church, where Chip is senior pastor,Jim Reiter'86 serves as associate pastor, and many Cedarville alumni are members. • *Pk,. WELCOME. ALtr,'". Cedarville Coll TL Heritage Alumni at Riverfront Stadium As is our summer tradition,25 Heritage Alumni journeyed to Cincinnati,Ohio to take in an afternoon ballgame with the Reds. Before the game,the group lunched on Mike Fink's Riverboat.The group enjoyed fellowship with Dave Bartlett, director of planned giving for the College. Cleveland,Ohio The new Great Lakes Science Center was the location for gathering more than 120 Cleveland area alumni, family,and friends.
