Inspire, Winter 1998-99
From The Director's Chair H omecoming 1998! What a weekend! More than 1,300 Cedarville College alumni returned to campus to renew special friendships, relive great memories, and revisit their alma mater. Alumni Week was filled with wonderful chapel services and included a delightful Heritage luncheon as well as President Dixon's State ofthe College address. To cap it all off, God truly blessed us with the best Homecoming weather imaginable..,sunny and in the 70s. I want to thank all those who made Homecoming'98 possible. The number of people who volunteered time and put in great amounts of overtime is immense. From those who coordinated reunions to those who moved furniture, from those who catered to those who typed, from those who saw the big picture to those who saw details—it couldn't have happened without you. After such a large event, the question is often asked,"What are you going to do with all your free time now?"Typically, we respond,"Whatfree time?" This issue is all about what we do that takes us away from the typical. So,now that Homecoming is over,I'm going to read a book, make some greeting cards, and bake. What will you do with Your Spare Time? saA*)"(Au Faith Linn '83 Director ofAlumni Relations Spiritual Hen Tour of (bitita 4cotton6 114.4(' CI‘L> C"Olc> 3...tdroAq July 9-22,1999 Cedarville College Westminster Abbey•Buckingham Palace • Warwick Castle • Stratford-on-Avon •Trafalgar Square Dr. James McGoldrick, Professor of History Dr. Martin Clark, Tour Host For more information, please contact Dr. Martin Clark at: (937)766-7810 (800 P.O. Networking is the way successful relationships are built, and we have many ways to do that on behalf of Cedarville College students. For example, thanks to the preparedness and professionalism of three Cedarville College engineering graduates, Procter and Gamble recently contacted the Career Services Office wanting to develop a relationship with the College. That relationship led to P&G recruiting on campus. Cedarville needs this to happen in all major fields of study. Career Services anticipates connecting with many of the organizations and companies that hire Cedarville College graduates and looks forward to more interaction with alumni. There are continuing opportunities for electrical and mechanical engineers in Des Moines, Iowa and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Other opportunities for a variety of majors exist in large metropolitan areas. Check out the Career Services web site at www.cedarvige.edu/dept/cpp / for more information.
